In July 1941, David Stirling, then a junior officer with the Scots Guards, tricked his way into the middle east headquarters and eventually made it to the office of Major General Neil Ritchie, the then Deputy Chief of Staff. Stirling put forward his plan to destroy Axis aircraft in the western desert while they were still on the ground. This was to be achieved by a small group of hand picked men, who were to parachute behind enemy lines before the next Allied offensive. General Ritchie approved Stirling's plan and gave permission for him to raise his small force of hand picked men. The name of the new force was to be L Detachment, The Special Air Service Brigade. The "Brigade" part of the name was a ploy, to trick the Axis forces into believing that the Allies had a parachute formation at large in the middle east.

The SAS has set the standards for other special forces in many fields. History has proven that the SAS is swift, versatile and damned effective.

In the world of special forces one name stands out above all others the UK`s SPECIAL AIR SERVICE. From the second world war, to the storming of the Iranian embassy and then the Gulf war, Afghanistan and now Iraq, the SAS has been involved in countless other operations that little or nothing is known about.

-Established 2001-

We are a Battlefield 2, Battlefield 2142 and Call of Duty 4 clan and also honor the Ghost Recon series because it was our founding game. We are a clan where fun, friendship and loyalty are paramount. Gaming skill takes second place.

In December 2001 when Ghost Recon was launched I was so impressed by the game I wanted to start my own UK clan called Shoot to Kill. Then I met a chap called Smith in a Ghost Recon forum. He told me he had started a clan and would like me to join. The 22nd Special Air Service UK Gaming Clan was born consisting only of Smith, Logun, me and LocknLoad.

As time went on the clan grew to a full squad and we started competing in Ghost Recon on Clan Base and earned ourselves a lot of respect with the Ghost Recon community and with UK Ghost Recon clans.

Smith kind of disappeared so Logun took command of the clan but unfortunately Logun left too after a year of commanding the clan. I had also had some personal troubles too and things did start to look rocky for us but I could never give up on the members and with a request from Beaker to lead the clan, I took command. I have been in command for over 4 years now and am proud to take the clan into the gaming communities and compete.
