Image:4corners_strat.jpg What the lines stand for

  • Dashed red line: range of artillery.
  • Solid red line: range of destroyers.
  • Green comm: our hero.
  • Red comm: the poor bastard...

How to play

  • Do a standard build order (pgen/pgen/mex/mex/lfac/pgen/pgen/mex/mex/lfec/pgen).
  • As soon as you get tanks and scouts, start harrasing your opponent.

Note: Do not go close range with your tanks. Aeon tanks have imbalanced range, so try to dance the enemy at your maximum range. Press CTRL+W to check attack range.

  • Destroy the enemy's outermost mex.
  • Camp your scouts on the water so you have decent map radar coverage.
  • Prevent him from building naval; gain water supremacy.
  • If your enemy is Aeon, build frigates. (Frigates obliterate tanks.)
  • Build a mobile T2 AA tank to hang around your base. Build more if the enemy is investing heavily in air.
  • If you fly a dropship or a mercy off-screen, HOTKEY IT! It's not easy to select things that are off-screen.

Note: It IS possible to fly units off-screen. Learn how to do it. Flying off-screen is imbalanced because it makes intercepting impossible.

  • Destroyers are much more effective than static artillery. Only resort to arty if you are adjacent to your opponent and your naval operations is thwarted.
  • If you have an ally, one of you can go for naval while the other goes air/arty/tanks.
  • If the game is a FFA, you might want to invest in base defense. It's harder to gain supremacy, but easier to pick off comms in the confusion. Invest heavily in shields (and mercies zomg).

This map should be decided as soon as T2 hits. It's simply too small to be epic. You can ruin anyone's day by mastering the off-screen air attacks.

Why Aeon?!

  1. Auroras hover AND have the longest range of any tank. What does that mean on a tiny water map? Bad news for the other factions.
  2. Their scouts hover. Since you can't build radar on the water, having them is pretty much like having a T2 radar.
  3. Their T2 AA hovers AND it has a much higher DPS than any other faction. Build these and your opponent can't get an effective air supremacy.
  4. They have the least expensive destroyers. Aeon destroyers cost less mass, energy, and time to build. Since destroyers are game breaking, this is a huge deal.
  5. Mercies. Blaugh. Mercies coming from off-screen? Game over.

Three keys for winning (try all three!)

  • T1Tanks/Scouts
  • Destroyers
  • Mercies
