No Vanity Pages

This Wiki gives each user the ability to create a personal User Page for themselves to describe their interests and feelings. Therefore, no need exists for another page to be created about a user on the Wiki - just use your user page.

Pages about other people

Some persons of note (such as John Carmack are of enough importance to the gaming community, both its past, present, and futute, that they warrant personal biography pages on this wiki. The Staff will use their discretion when deciding whether a person warrants a vanity page.

The general rule of thumb is this: if you're not sure, ask first. Some people can become touchy over facts displayed in encyclopedia or Wikipedia articles, especially if the person is at the middle of a current controversy. Therefore, editors must use discretion in creating biographical pages for major users.

Occasionally, the Staff will found a biographical article as a signal to the community that it is okay to do so. If this occurs, we highly encourage everyone to edit it!
