EncyClanPedia Offers
How do I get started?
  • The EncyClanPedia offers a rare Wiki experience that caters to Clans! Create your own Clan-Wiki and use it to advertise your clan to prospecting members!
  • The EncyClanPedia offers never before seen security measures that protect Clan-Wiki's from vandalism, via our Clan-Liaison system. We also prevent anonymous IP's from editing Wiki-pages! This is so our patrons' fears can be put to rest, knowing their Clan-Wiki pages will be safe! All they have to do is add their clan-wiki to Category:Clans and get access to their Clan-Wiki by contacting one of the Administrators. After that, only that clan's Clan Liaison can edit their page.

For those of you new to using MediaWiki, I'd highly suggest to all of you to visit, our Help Page for information on all topics.

For those of you new to the ECP, I'd suggest visiting these pages to get familiar with MediaWiki:

For those of you just looking to add your very own Clan-Wiki, please refer to our Clan-Wiki Guide. Remember to only add Category:Clans after you're ready to submit your Clan-Wiki to our Clan-Liaison program, or you'll be locked out of your page. If you've added Category:Clans to your wiki page, contact Dairuka for access!

Register for the EncyClanPedia Forums Today!

Why? I'll tell you why.

Quoted by Dairuka, on the EncyClanPedia Forums

Everyday there are new guests coming in and out of these forums, and quite frankly, I feel they're cheating themselves on a wonderful opportunity to join up with the crew here at the Total Gaming Network.

If the community itself isn't enough to lure you to register, what about the following?:

  • A Photobucket-style Album. that allows you to upload 1.3mb sized pictures with a resolution maximum of 1,280 x 1024! - You can also upload up to a thousand pictures, which makes it about ten times better than what the other picture hosts offer. Especially flickr which is capped at 200.
  • Access to a project management, and time-scheduler for modders which allows you to show your fans what you're up to, or if you're just a fan of mods, it allows you to keep track of what your favorite modders are up to.
  • Access to your very own free blog! which is nothing short of nice for those of us who need to rant and let off a little steam. Considering our community is pretty big, you're bound to get a bunch of replies - which is a huge step above loneliness in some random blogger site.
  • TGN's Arcade! Seriously. If you think you have to skills to beat TGN's best - you better register and prove it.
  • TGN's Casino! - For every post you make on TGN, regardless of where you post it, you earn $1 towards your account, which you can use to digitally gamble for fun in TGN's casino. Be careful though, it doesn't take long to lose your shirt, but don't worry - you can always earn it back by posting more!
  • TGN VIDEO! Quite literally the coolest feature about TGN is the fact that you can upload all of your best videos of pwnage in your favorite games. The upload process is easier than dealing with Youtube, and theres no restriction of what you can upload. (Within reason. Don't upload porn.)

So seriously people! Register today for the EncyClanPedia forums! Take some time to play around with the and helpful tools! Stay to talk with the ECP and TGN community! Don't forget that the Total Gaming Network has buttloads of gaming forums that can meet the needs of almost anybody. Including those of us who like to spam in the Off Topic Section.

So there you have it. Check out the EncyClanPedia Forums today, and make sure to register! TGN and the ECP have plenty to offer!

It just keeps getting bigger and bigger

I'll make a huge speech about this later, but right now I'm just blown away.

Contest Time!

Well we're changing the contest around a little to meet people's schedules a little better. Turns out there were a lot of people interested in helping out, but homework seems to be a constant issue among people. Obviously I should've come up with this contest on a week-end, and not on a week-day! So, for that purpose of catering to our fan-base alone. I'm extending the contest from for today only to for this week only! - That means this contest will continue onward until the end of Sunday the 16th of March at Midnight Pacific Time.

Quoted by Dairuka, on the EncyClanPedia Forums

I will be awarding Trusted User status to up to three people who can make the best non-clan page on the EncyClanPedia!

This is a for-this week only contest (March 11-16, 2008), which means I will pick a winner at midnight Pacific Time on Sunday, and declare them for all to see in this thread!

Don't know where to start? First check out our Help Section and then try picking from the ideas below

Call of Duty 4 Single Player Characters. Frontlines: Fuel of War. Unreal Tournament III. Nintendo Entertainment System Games. Sega Genesis Games.

Don't like those ideas? Good! Come up with your own ideas to really impress me! The more obscure the game, or game information - the more I'll notice!

Try to follow in the footsteps of great pages like the Darkspace page - which is a prime example of what Wiki pages are supposed to look like, because it's made up of multiple editors, and not just a single writer!

This means that I'll be watching people's creations and revisions very closely throughout the entire day, and if I happen to notice somebody being such a great team-player by collaborating with other writers, I'll definitely be persuaded to chose that person over the others.

Trusted Users get inside access to future ECP projects - and will be the first in line if we're on the lookout for new staff members. The benefits won't stop there, as there are many good ideas being thrown around on how to reward our Trusted Users and Staff for the near future - so get cracking! You only 5 days left to create a masterpiece!

Anonymous Week on the EncyClanPedia!

Well, I'm taking a break for a week. Today will literally be my last day doing any editing what-so-ever. This is mostly brought on due to real life getting in the way with online fun. Don't worry though. There are plenty of new staff members out there ready to prove themselves - and from the looks of things, Webs and Kirk will be more active.

As for Anonymous Week? See Webs/Kirk's post here.

Quoted by CaptainKirk, on the EncyClanPedia Forums

The staff at the EncyClanPedia removed editing restrictions this week and now allow anonymous editors to contribute to the EncyClanPedia!

So what does this mean for all our guest editors out there? Well, registration is no longer required to edit or create pages, or discuss an article on the talk page. Have a question? Now you can ask a staff member quickly and easily without the extra added hassles.

Registration, however, is still highly encouraged as to provide proper attribution for contributions. Furthermore, registered users can continue their contributions and apply for a position as a Trusted User, one of the most prestiegous titles in the EncyClanPedia.

So, get out there, Find an Article and get to editing!

How do I feel about Anonymous week? Well, I say go for it guys, I even advertised it on a couple of forums - so to the new people, go wild, and add as much as you can before you're forced to register. Just don't break any rules. The ECP moderators are a ban happy bunch - and we do perma-ban for excessive spamming. If this actually works out - and we see a benefit to this idea, then we may even discuss doing more weeks like these in the future.

--Dairuka 11:45, 3 March 2008 (PST)

About 150,000 page views on the EncyClanPedia in two months.

Yet, we only have 458 pages, and only 20 people out of 148 who have actually contributed (Not including Clan-Wiki's) to the site, with literally three people being regular contributors.

There is certainly something wrong with this picture. How come we're so exceptionally popular, yet nobody is willing to share the wealth of knowledge with us? We've had over 20,000 visitors in one month alone, so why are so few willing to help out?

Is it because nobody knows how to build a Wiki page? Well, now there are plenty of Tutorials out there on our Help Pages.

I'm absolutely befuddled to know why people are so unwilling to contribute to our website. If you appreciate the work that the ECP has done so far to bring you useful and important information, why don't you show it by registering with us, and tossing up a Wiki-page on a game that hasn't been added so far? You could even toss in a tidbit of information on pre-existing Game-Wiki's. Heck, tell your Clan-mates about us, and get a Clan-Wiki set up! Maybe you could even add a fan-wiki of your favorite game characters like Call of Duty 4's Captain MacMillan, or Captain Price. I mean, they're completely ignored on Wikipedia, and even Call of Duty 4's Wikia site. So why not give them the fan service they deserve here? It's a great way to gain experience using MediaWiki.

Are people afraid that their information won't be appreciated, or that it'll disappear into obscurity? I can almost guarantee you, that the ECP is not going anywhere. The Administrators of the ECP are especially appreciative of their consistent contributors. We'd absolutely love to add more people to our Trusted User program, which nets you a shiny green name on the Total Gaming Network Forums as well as the EncyClanPedia Forums. Trusted User status also nets you access to certain protected pages that other users aren't allowed to edit. Thats why it's we call them Trusted Users - Also note, that Staff is recruited from people in our Trusted User pool. So there is always a chance to advance if you're dedicated enough.

As for us disappearing? Not even possible. We're here permanently as a part of the Total Gaming Network, and we're only going to grow in popularity as the days go by. I mean seriously, 20,000 visitors in a month is huge for a site thats only been up for two months. We're not obscure anymore... so come on, chip in today, and become a part of Internet history!

Oh, and I've also decided to crate a Landmark page. I'll make it look pretty later.

Kirk and Webs be messing with the skin template

So expect things to look a little wonky for a little while now. They'll have it done soon, so don't fret.

The "stub" Tag

There are a lot of pages that have been marked as stubs, or short pages that need expanding, that have since been filled out and are no longer "stubs." If you come accross a completed page that still has the stub tag at the bottom, please remove it! You can find a list of stubbed pages here. --CaptainKirk 19:19, 17 February 2008 (PST)

Sins of a Solar Empire

Has been sucking up the majority of my time ever since it came out. It's an RTS and a 4x game rolled into one smooth yet slow running hybrid that satisfies the needs of those of us who love both genres of gaming.

In tribute to the Sins of a Solar Empire gods, I decided to make a Ships Database which you guys should check out if you're interested in the game. It didn't really catch on as well as our Call of Duty 4 Weapons Database, but thats fine.

Don't add Category:Clans unless you're ready to secure your Clan-Wiki!

This is important to all clan leaders who're aspiring to create their Clan-Wiki's, all too often people are adding Category:Clans to their clan-wiki prematurely, causing them to get locked out of their own web-page. Only add Category:Clans if you're absolutely finished your Clan-Wiki, because I won't be around to give you Clan Liaison access right away. If you haven't finished your Clan-Wiki pages yet, please try to access them again. If you're still being locked out of your own page, send Dairuka a message asking for access.

Also note that you're allowed up to 2 extra Clan Liaisons. So if you want two of your closest officers access to editing the Clan-Wiki, please make sure to let Dairuka know. I will only add them if they can prove that they are a viable member of your clan. The best way to do this is to have the leader, or the creator of the Initial Clan-Wiki vouche for them.

If you happen to notice that your Clan's Name is already taken on the Clan-Wiki roster. Also make sure to contact Dairuka - This is important because I will then create sub-pages, and a Disambiguation page.

A Wiki within a Wiki?

It's true! We've added so much information on Call of Duty 4, that we've decided to add another Main Page specifically for Call of Duty 4, just to organize it all! Make sure to check it out.

Giving the people what they came for

I realize that a lot of people are here in search of the new weapons statistics database that I put up yesterday. Unfortunately I haven't had the chance to truly make a nice pretty Main Page for Call of Duty 4's Wiki within our Wiki - So to make things easier on our patrons; I'm just going to post up the link right now. You can find it here: Category:Call_of_Duty_4:_Modern_Warfare,_Weapons.

February's Features of the Month Nominations have been posted! Make sure to vote today!

We're sorry for having skipped January, but due to the heavy workload, and all of the stress that occured after Christmas, nobody was really willing to set aside the time to set up the nominations, and prepare any articles or interviews for January's Features.

Fear not though. The workload has disappeared, and everybody is in high spirits again for February's Featured of the Month! So make sure to show your support for the EncyClanPedia by voting today for February's:

All are equally important, so please vote on each one of them. Also make sure to let your friends know about the votes, so that they too can cast their vote, and have their input heard by the administrators at the ECP!

Please note that you'll have to register at the Total Gaming Network to be eligible to vote. It doesn't take much time, and you get access to all of the wonderful forums that the Total Gaming Network hosts, including the EncyClanPedia Forum!

--Dairuka 00:20, 24 January 2008 (PST)

New look, same great idea.

As you've probably noticed, the EncyClanPedia has a new look. This has actually been the work of our very own CaptainKirk, who reskinned a design template by Paul Gu. I'd like to thank CaptainKirk for all of his hard work, and I look forward to even more awesome visual updates coming from him soon!

As for the TGN forum integration. There seems to be a small problem.

Quoted by Webs961, on the EncyClanPedia Forums

Wikimedia uses PHP sessions to enable people to perform actions such as editing, registering, changing your preferences, etc. Basically, you need a session to do anything which will change the database.

Our problem is this. The Total Gaming Network isn't one big server: it's a cluster of a bunch of pretty high-powered web servers and a massive SQL server. To be able to handle the load we have, MyIS needed that kind of infrastructure. However, it was configured long before Dairuka came up with the EncyClanPedia idea, and since vBulletin does not use PHP sessions, it was not necessary to configure the save path for said sessions.

Basically, if you log into the old EncyClanPedia site (which we are using now), when you log in and try to do something, it gives you a session and stores it somewhere on the server. But, it works there because it's only one server. Now, if you log onto the new EncyClanPedia, you'll wind up on one of a bunch of servers, and if you try to do something, the server which you're currently using will create a session for you and store it locally. The problem comes in when you try to submit whatever change you made. To balance the load out among the servers, you may get assigned to server number three instead of number one. Now, server number three doesn't have access to server number one's local drives (where the PHP sessions are located) for security and redundancy reasons, and therefore, you're trying to submit a change without a session and MediaWiki throws a hissy fit because you're supposed to have a session. The fix would entail going into each one of the servers and changing the PHP configuration to write to a location that each one of the servers can see.

What hes basically saying is, we're hooped until the people from MyInternetServices and the Total Gaming Network can free up some time to plug some holes that've been cropping up as a result of our Wiki on their servers. So we'll just have to be patient for now. Also, don't worry about editing. EVERYTHING will be ported over the moment integration is ready to begin.

On a lighter note. Total Gaming Network has a new Affiliate Wiki run by none-other than the people at Kaos Studios! We're going to be doing some extra work on their Kaos Studios Wiki to be neighborly, and to help them get it started! You guys should go check them out!
