A brief history of Last Rites Clan

On October 18, 2006, 2142 was launched and LRC was there. A band of poorly organized and somewhat disheartened Mechwarriors made a six year leap. Having spent all their time on the game of the year for 2000, these old school veterans were the oldest remaining clan in Mechwarrior 4, apart from the TimberWolves, of course!

Servers were hard to find those days and the only seeming answer was to Mercenaries, which had already lost support after a thousand upgrades from the MekTek lunatics.

bLitz suggested 2142: "It has mechs." Bladedancer: "Those aren't real mechs, mate. They're about a third the size of our mechs."

Nevertheless, a group of individuals who had been together for more than four years gradually entered the 2142 world. One year later there are about a dozen active. We have had to learn to be infantrymen, something a mechwarrior disdains greatly.

It was suggested in the earlier days that our teamwork would be an asset as well as our ability to operate machinery and the multi-tasking environment that creates.

While Den Budman has probably proven to best exemplify mechwarrior skills by climbing the upper echelons of the tank kills list and the walker remains a staple of our combat, many have diversified.

Zeredah is an excellent defense designer and instructor. bLitz enjoys ambushing air and armor as they depart base. Most members can handle an airship at an expert level and we all agree that a stolen gunship is the best kind.

But the most surprising development in our evolution as warriors is the competition for dog tags. Raziel has always been top ranked and now counts his kills by the thousands. Wazzup and Milo Kerrigan seem to have a bit of piquerism in their hearts as well.

So I guess this is more of an introduction than much on history - that you can find on our forum linking from our clan intro page. Just say hello if you see us and join in or blow us up as you wish. And if we gripe and bitch a little, just remember we are old school and don't really mean anything by it!
