Game Platforms are essentially a framework of either hardware or software, that allows gaming software to run. To most of us, they are most easily described as gaming systems. Over the decades we've come to accept that video game consoles, such as the X-box 360 or the Playstation 3 are game platforms, however Windows, Linux and the Macintosh should all be considered game platforms as well.
