Battlefield Heroes is a new game in the Battlefield series announced by EA games.
Unlike the previous battlefield games, Battlefield Heroes will be free to download from http://www.battlefield-heroes.com, and will instead generate revenue through ads and micro-payments for in-game items.
The look of the game will also change significantly, with a move to a new cartoon-like appearance.
Battlefield Heroes will now be available through download to all nations. [1]
Features

- Graphics resembling Team Fortress 2, cartoon style
- Matchmaking system, which will allow players to meet opponents of equal skill-level. The game is also free to compete. [2]

- Both First-person and Third-person shooter perspectives, depending on the situation. [4]
- Three class structure: Commando, Soldier, and Gunner
- Levels can get as high as 50+
- Each character has 15 customizable parts, ranging from head to gloves and boots
- Experience points will be awarded for doing well that can be used on character upgrades
- Achievement system is now Mission system allowing the player to decide what to do [5]
- Two armies at launch the "Royal Army" and the "National Army".
History
Battlefield Heroes was originally called "Battlefield West" but was changed after six months of development.[6] The Royal Army was not their first choice faction, it was changed to that after being suggested by the EA CEO Frank Gibeau.

- RAM: 512 Mb (1Gb on Windows Vista)
- Video Card: 64Mb DirectX compliant video card with at least pixel shader 2.0 support
- Hard Drive space: 1Gb of space is required to install the game
