Battlefield: Bad Company (abbreviated BFBC) is a first-person shooter currently under development by Digital Illusions CE, it is the latest game in the Battlefield series published by EA Games. Bad Company takes place in the Battlefield 2 universe, much like modern day. The game is currently planned to be released on console platforms Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, it will be the first game in the Battlefield Series to have an actual campaign. Bad Company uses a brand new engine developed by Digital Illusions CE called the Frostbite Engine, enabling the players to destroy 80% of the environment. It will be released on March 24th, 2008 in the United States and on March 28th, 2008 in the EU. The first teaser trailer was released on February 28th, 2007 displaying two of the main characters and displayed the first footage of the new Frostbite Engine. A second trailer was released on September 6th, 2007 displaying first-person game play and a brief view of the story line.

Destructible Environments
Using the new Frostbite Engine players will be able to destroy 90 percent of the environment [1], meaning players can blow up parts of buildings, make holes in the ground, blow in walls, blow up fences, shoot down trees, and much more. This adds a whole new element of game play allowing players to create new entries into a battlefield, killing enemies by blowing up a wall or building, and more. High powered vehicles will be aloud to use there mortars and such to destroy the environment as well, making very hard to hide from a vehicle such as a tank. Also the most recent trailer showed the use of Dynamic Lighting, when a player would blow up a side of a building the shadow would change throughout the day.
Classes
Following a similar path of Battlefield 2142, there will be less classes to choose from meaning Digital Illusions CE will most likely merge two or more of the classed together.- Recon - The Recon kit's main weapon is a sniper rifle.
- Assault - The Assault kit's main weapon is a assault rifle.
- Demolition - The Demolition kit's main weapon is a shotgun.
- Specialist - The Specialist's kit's main weapon is a carbine.
- Support - The Support kit's main weapon is a light-machine gun.

Multiplayer
Maps
- Valley Run
- At the head of a long valley, Russians are expanding and fortifying a dam facility when the US gets wind of the large amounts of gold hidden in the area.
- Deconstruction
- With the water facility captured, the US has a foothold for assaulting the construction area. Girders, pipes, and scaffolding make this a tight, labyrinthine scramble and the fight to take the bridge will grueling.
- Harvest Day
- Farms are torn apart by heavy caliber gunfire, as the Americans are forced to retreat to the local town with their hard-won gold – will they be able to halt the rampaging Russian bear?
- Over and Out
- Having been pushed out of the plains, the Americans have made off with large amounts of bullion, and holed up in a captured Russian communication centre.
- Oasis
- A normally arid gully has been flooded after a local dam burst, threatening to overflow a local MEC industrial gas facility.
- Final Ignition
- The grimy gas facility is in start contract to the irrigated town and plantation surrounding it, and the US will have a hard time dislodging the defenders from the fortress like facility.
- End of the Line
- US forces have landed on the windswept plain below the imposing, secluded hilltop monastery, which houses a secret listening station. Before they make their way to the top, they have to rid of Russians’ vehicle defense.
- Ascension
- The monastery’s location means the area is, geographically speaking, easily defensible. The attackers are well armed, but taking the defender’s gold will be no easy task, as every window may contain an enemy sniper.
