BanzaiFrom EncyClanPedia
OverviewBanzai Clan, also known as <|BanzaI|> or <|B|>, is a UK/European based clan formed in January 2004 by members of 1st-BW (Blackwatch Clan) who wished to have more control of their own gaming affairs. At the time the members exclusively played Medal of Honour: Allied assault. Banzai's success in this game was profound, reaching, and staying, at the top of both the UK and European Clanbase ladders for some time. Being part of Banzai is more than just being a part of a clan. Many of the members, if not all, consider each other as good friends. Years of playing together can do that to you. Similarly, it has advantages in clan matches in that each player knows the particular traits of their team mates. Banzai StyleThe Banzai members pride themselves on a very aggressive type of game style. Camping is rarely tolerated, but accepted when the occasion calls for it. In all games played, including in clan matches, movement is key to Banzai - they like to be on the move. Having fun in everything is a key tenant of the clan, for without fun there is no point taking part in anything. Medal Of HonourMedal of Honour:Allied Assault was the main game for Banzai in the early days. The gametype most often played in this was Team Death Match (TDM). TDM allowed the members to express themselves best, as they felt other game types induced a "camping" mentality among gamers. Banzai played the majority of its competitive Medal of Honour gaming in the Clanbase ladders. The two key ladders were the UK TDM and European TDM of which Banzai became number one in for a lengthy period of time. "To cut a long story short Banzai handed our asses back to us on a plate with a cracking performance, as a team I don't think we've played anyone as good as this since ECR and Lucky 13th. Across the two maps they were not only the better team, but also had the tactics and adaptability to match" - [HH]|Ba.| Snoopy after losing to Banzai. After MOH:AAA clan built around one particular game can often crumble when the game itself crumbles, or simply gets old. This was not the case with Banzai, who managed to persevere. Battlefield 2 played a role, with Banzai taking part in the World Tournament and getting involved in Clanbase ladders. Although enjoying the game, a casual attitude was taken, and the fact the game was not solely infantry based was a turn off for some of the members. Much annoyance at killing 5 enemy infantry, only to be airstriked to oblivion or blown to little pieces by a tank, ensued. As MOH:AA was a favourite of Banzai, Medal of Honor: Airborne was a game closely watched. Unfortunately the game was the latest in a line of ever poorer Medal of Honour games, and perhaps signalled the end of Banzai's love affair with Medal of Honour. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and RecruitmentCall of Duty 4 is the current playground of the Banzai clan. With no real FPS Banzai deemed good enough to be involved in, activity in competitions was limited. With many of the members enjoying COD4 immensely, it seems certain Banzai will re-ignite its love affair with the competitive match in this game, most likely in TDM (the 5v5 TDM European ladder in clanbase). In regards to recruitment, the clan is an adult one, therefore only people aged 18+ are considered for becoming members. At any point the clan is usually open to new members, but it is especially open to it at the moment with COD4 around. Server Information: COD4The current Banzai COD4 server is running a mixed bag of gametypes. TDM, Search and Destroy, Sabotage and Domination are run in that order, once per map. For example the server starts with TDM Bloc, followed by S&D Pipeline and so on. There is also a secondary server mostly used for practice and matches, but for the rest of the time is running hardcore mode tdm or normal tdm. Banzai owns its own server hardware, so will be putting up more and more COD4 servers running a variety of things in the future. Members
